TEAM UP Tennessee: Cancer Education Program

Team Up with us in conquering cancer in Tennessee!

TEAM UP TN is a state and county partnership with the Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program and the University of Tennessee Extension. Our goal is to eliminate cancer in Tennessee by mobilizing communities to form TEAM UP TN partnerships to address cancers specific to their county.

Teaching Tennesseans about cancer can save their lives. There are many factors, such as diet, exercise, tobacco, family history, age, gender and sun exposure, which can increase one’s risk for cancer. TEAM UP TN teaches people what necessary actions they can take to prevent the occurrence of cancer. The value of early screening is a consistent message in all of our cancer education programs. TEAM UP TN promotes the screening service of the Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program to eligible women throughout the state.

We offer a variety of programs that package the cancer expertise of the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute, the screening services of the Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program with the educational delivery network of the University of Tennessee Extension. The Tennessee Affiliates of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure offer grants for specific county breast cancer education and screening activities.

Through specific county TEAM UP partnerships, communities can offer a variety of opportunities for residents to access cancer education programs and screening opportunities in unique ways.
